The applet on this page is designed to help you understand and visualize the behaviour of functions of natural (Naperian) logarithms and their graphs.
The general logarithm function has the form: Aln|Bx + C| + D. Notice that we must use the modulus of Bx + C, since the ln (log) function is not defined for 0 or negative values.
Varying A, B, C and D changes the graph.

By investigating the effects of varying these different parameters, you should develop a feel for the behaviour of these very important functions, and for transformations of functions in general. The rest of the instructions are easy to guess at, so I'll let you get on with it!
A challenge for you! Pressing "Random Curve" will generate a graph in yellow. Try to cover the yellow curve with the white one by adjusting the parameters. Enjoy yourself!
